APPLICATION FOR FUNDS - 2026 BRIDGE FUND PROGRAM
Recognizing local governments are potentially facing financial challenges caused by a delay in property tax bills going out, the Cook County Property Tax Bridge Fund Program is making hundreds of millions of dollars in no-interest loans available to local governments and taxing districts while prioritizing underserved and disinvested communities. This program portal is where you can submit your application for this innovative and equitable program.
Qualifying taxing bodies such as municipalities, park districts, fire protection districts, library districts, school districts, and townships will be able to apply for a short-term loan with the County. These funds will help ensure local governments in suburbs across Cook County can cover payroll, pay bills, and provide much-needed services to our residents.
Applications will be open to all local taxing jurisdictions beginning July 20, 2026 at 9:00 AM CDT. The application window will close on August 24, 2026, at 5:00 PM CDT. Each local taxing district interested in receiving a loan will need to complete an application and upload the required supporting documents for review by the County.
